
Jose L. Encarnacion - All-State High School Jazz Band
Jose L. Encarnacion leads the jazz improvisation classes, coaches jazz small teams, teaches applied jazz saxophone, and coordinates the jazz performance program during the Lawrence University Conservatory of musical. He learned saxophone, flute and clarinet at the Free class of musical in San Juan, Puerto Rico, completed their Bachelor of musical degree during the Berklee College of musical in Boston in which he graduated magna cum laude, and received his Master of Music degree from the Eastman class of Music (such as the 2002 Schirmer reward in Jazz Performance). He formerly served as Assistant Professor of Jazz Saxophone at the Eastman School of Music, Instructor of Saxophone, Latin Jazz Efficiency Workshop, and Youth Saxology for the Eastman Community class, so that as Jazz Ensemble Conductor during the Rochester (NY) class of the Arts.
He's done jazz, salsa, and Latin songs utilizing the Bob Mintzer Big Band, the Dave Rivello Ensemble, Gilberto Santarosa, Roberto Rohena, Bobby Valentin, Domingo Quinones, Israel “Cachao" Lopez, Tito Puente, Danilo Perez, Dave Valentin, Giovanni Hidalgo, Batacumbele, Humberto Ramirez, David Sanchez, Michael Spiro and Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra. His pops shows include appearances with the Temptations, Dianne Reeves, Natalie Cole, Doc Severinsen, Lou Rawls, nyc Voices, Brasilia, Ann Hampton Calloway, and also the symphony orchestras of Milwaukee, Rochester, and Green Bay.
