Phoenix Jazz Band

With Phoenix Center the Arts) – This unique, 16-week program led by Mark Witt offers young performers the opportunity to participate interesting jazz band. Students will jam together into the varieties of big band, combination, and ensembles. The group will perform at their very own gig after the 16-week period. All rehearsals therefore the overall performance needs spot in the Nash.

(with Phoenix Conservatory of songs) – in colaboration with the Phoenix Conservatory of Music City musical Program, a free of charge songs college-preparatory program for grades 4 – 12, four younger musicians are chosen through an extensive audition process to become The Nash/PCM Jazz Ensemble. The ensemble attends regular sessions and education within Nash, Phoenix’s downtown Jazz club, to build up their technique, improvisation skills while learning to play jazz in a genuine jazz environment.

Every Sunday the genuine character of jazz plays from stage at Nash, as pupil and pro artists play together, unrehearsed, in a variety of combinations. There’s constantly a good core trio. Student jazz musicians are welcome, with household band, grand piano, guitar and bass amp, drum ready and sound all provided. Singers welcome. Event open to all centuries! Great options for audiences to enjoy 3 hours of jazz.

Catch a Rising Star system – annually The Nash selects up-and-coming jazz performers from the area to-be area of the Catch a Rising celebrity Summer Concert Series. The performers are priced between twelfth grade to recent college students beneath the ages of 25, just who either tend to be based or had been raised in Arizona. All groups might be offered clinics by experienced regional jazz teachers.
